In the nave of Canterbury Cathedral we listened to the European Union Chamber Orchestra. They played some very popular pieces. Vivaldi Concerto for 4 Violins, Mozart Clarinet Concerto in A Major (Michael Collins soloist), Samuel Barbers Adagio and Piotr Tchaikovsky’s Serenade in C. For me the acoustics were good (we had seats near the front) and the expression fantastic (particularly the soft and slow parts like Adagio movements in the Mozart and Barber pieces). A wonderful opening concert for the 2018 Canterbury Festival.
The west end of the Cathedral and the roof of the nave are undergoing extensive renovations.

First Concert of the Canterbury Festival
A children’s hunt
My 12 year old grand nephew Ben was visiting the farm and decided he would like to go to an East Kent Hunt children’s meet at another farm. He has a very beautiful pony.
